The hallway between the KJCM&A and the restrooms looks like a little path, and it is home to a Japanese Library.

The library was established to honor Anne Niro and her contributions to KJCA. Anne has always loved books, so we thought it was a fitting way to honor her.
Please feel free to browse the books. We have a variety of Japanese-language novels, cookbooks, art books, and children’s books, all donated by our members.
However, this section is a bit different.
Valuable Japanese resource books
The books beside the stairs are a little different.

We learn something new from these books every day.
If we don’t have them close at hand, not only will our work become more difficult, but we might also miss valuable information.
They are rare and valuable books written in Japanese about the Japanese Canadian experience, so please do not take them out of the building.
the Vancouver Asahi baseball team
We also have a manga series about the Vancouver Asahi baseball team. It was brought from Japan and is based on a true story.

If you are a student visiting from Japan and don’t know much about the Vancouver Asahi, I really recommend reading it before you return home. It is a good way to learn more about this part of Japanese Canadian history.
These books must stay at the centre, but you are welcome to read them here.
